Arrggghh...Must pick Marilyn Horne...
though I really like Vesselina Kasarova and Giulietta Simionato more. But the greatest has got to be La Horne. She could sing anything, seems like... and she and Dame Joan resurrected Bel Canto and Baroque opera, pretty much. I like Kasarova and Simionato more because they do better 'in-character' singing... Must confess to not having heard Schumann-Heink much, tho. O.. and Cossotto, too. :o)
