Fast Facts:
- Can’t sing, but still want to get involved at the opera? Baltimore Opera Supers (BOPS) is a volunteer support group dedicated to assisting the Baltimore Opera Company. The cool things they get to do include: helping audience members at performances, meeting artists at the airport, operating a backstage canteen at all rehearsals and performances, serve as light walkers in lighting rehearsals, and appear on stage as supernumeraries (non-singing extras) in opera productions.
- The opera company hosts free pre-performance lectures before every mainstage performance.
- The Baltimore Opera’s outreach program, Opera to Go, is quite extensive, offering a variety of shows for grades K-12.
- A limited number of dress rehearsal passes are offered to students for each performance.
